Ace came to us for flight training along with 4 other birds from CASA avian clinic in San Ignacio. (Monty, Nigel, Larry & Lucky)
He was in fabulous condition and fully flighted when he arrived.
Ace was confiscated from a dealer, newly stolen from the nest, and is grabbing his second chance with both claws.

11th April 2010 - Update
Ace was part of a release of 13 birds on February 12th 2010. Unfortunately, this did not go according to plan, and he and the other 4 birds he came into the centre with were generally not good at being wild. As well as hanging around the aviaries, they would also visit nearby houses and a neighbour's cornfield. On 25th February, one of the other releases, Timba, was killed by a possum. A few days later, Larry was attacked, but fortunately (with a little help) escaped the possum's clutches.
All birds except a few wilder releases were returned to the aviry until the possum problem could be resolved. Ace is still ther, along with Larry, Lucky & Nigel. We are contemplating release in July or August, to coincide with the rains and the end of breeding season.
