We belive that parrot numbers are falling much more rapidly than anyone suspects: particularly those of the Yellow-Head (
Amazona oratrix
)
Please help us to assess these numbers more acurately.
Keep a weekly log of the birds you see around you and where you saw them and then
email
or telephone (822 1145) your count to us.
November to January is the perfect time to see most parrots as they start to pair up and seek nest sites.
If you have nesting parrots in your garden, we'd love to hear about them (but don't let anyone near those chicks!)
