Katy moves into the house

Tuesday 3rd December

I think parrots must have an amazing sense of humour. It's definitely more to fun for them to push someone off their perch when the landing involves a satisfying crunching noise, a squeak and then some blood.

Katy The Brick is now holidaying in the house until she learns to fly - or bounce...

Pepperito Arrives

Thursday 5th December

Forestry Department brought us a confiscated bird today. Pepperito was actually in quite good shape, all things considered: although I'm not sure how long he would have remained that way in his teeny, tiny cage.

He's a sweetie: he can say Pepperito, Pepper, Lorito, Loro, Polly.... quite the worst kind of rehab candidate in fact.

He too is holidaying in the house with Katy, the other brick.
Penelope Leaves Today

23rd December
A rather sad day today.

After careful deliberation, a couple of lacerations, near-misses with the cooking pot and a million other issues, we had to take Penelope to the zoo today. It was never our first choice: she enjoyed her freedom and it has always been our goal never to cage anything unnecessarily. But, she was total nightmare and hated most people she encountered (and that included total strangers walking down the road)

Let's hope she will be happy there - please say hi if you're ever in her neighbourhood.
