New Arrivals
22nd November
|
We took delivery of some trainee pilots today ; 2 white-fronted and 3 red loreds. Tracey Anderson, the clinic manager at CASA in San Ignacio has done a fabulous job of raising these little guys: 4 babies and one yearling. But now it's time for some serious flying. They will probably remain with us for around 4-6 months, although they are strong, healthy and not clipped, so who knows, it could be Independence Day for them sooner than we think.

Last sighting of Blue
Thursday 16th October
|
What can we say. If he joined a flock - good luck, if he went to that jungle in the sky... well... is it better than being caged for the rest of your life?? I guess that depends one what sort of cage and who you are asking. This is the aspect of what we do that depresses me the most: is he okay or not? So close to Pepe's departure, it is very depressing indeed. But on the plus side, they are both strong birds, confident flyers and, in Blue's case at least, not at all interested in people.

Pepe Goes AWOL
5th October
|
Pepe took off into the wide blue yonder today. I don't know what else to say. I don't know why he went, I don't know where he went. But he's gone. We miss him desperately, that's for sure. |
