Wood Stork Release

Earlier this year we received an injured wood stork, found by the good people at the Belize Zoo.

Lucky for Mr Stork, Dr Sophie was on hand to patch up his injuries. Likely he was attacked by someone with a machete, chopping his right wing. This is really sad as these gentle giants never harm humans and they don't eat much in the way of human food, except possibly the odd fish...

Thankfully we have a great release site with Captain Hooks Shrimp Farm close to Belize City. Robert and the Crew don't mind sharing their catch with our feathered friends!

Enjoy the video, and while you're watching it, remember that this 3 minute snapshot of his rescue through to release was 2 months, countless people and $655US in the making!
