Water bird rehabilitation

Currently Belize Bird Rescue is the only dedicated, multi-species rehabilitation centre in the country, therefore all water birds, even sea birds have to be brought 50 miles inland to receive attention.

We have to keep special piscivore formula, a freezer full of fish (fresh water and sea), plus a reliable supply of live fish on hand at all times.

Fortunately, the centre is situated on Roaring Creek and we have built a sizeable pond stocked with river fish for our live supply.
Thanks to generous donors, our dedicated outdoor water-bird enclosure was opened in 2017
