Wings & Wild Things - October Edition

September brought a little breathing space after the whirlwind of baby season — but there was still plenty happening at Belize Bird Rescue.

This month we followed the progress of LJ, a Yellow-headed Amazon with a badly damaged foot, watched a Grey Hawk prove that a poor prognosis isn't always the final word, and discovered exactly where seven Black-bellied Whistling Ducklings belonged.

There was a very lucky Forest Falcon, a Royal Tern beginning his long road back to the sea, several young parrots starting their journeys towards a wild life, and plenty of other stories from the 222 birds currently in our care.

We also took our giant birds out for Belize's Independence Day celebrations, welcomed some new arrivals, and started getting ready for our December Giving Season, with a US$30,000 goal and a live fundraising event planned for Belmopan.

Read our October newsletter, In Full Flight, for all the stories from BBR.
