We’re Hiring: Skilled Handyman & Groundskeeper

Belize Bird Rescue is currently seeking a Skilled Handyman & Groundskeeper to join our team at our facility in Roaring Creek, Cayo District.

This is a full-time, hands-on role focused primarily on maintenance, groundskeeping, enclosure building, and light construction, helping to keep the rescue running smoothly day to day. The position also includes some involvement in basic bird care when needed.

We are looking for a practical, reliable individual who is confident using tools, able to work independently, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. The role includes tasks such as repairs, building and maintaining enclosures, light construction projects, mowing and bush-hogging, and general upkeep of the property.

Applicants must live within commuting distance of Roaring Creek, be fluent in English and Spanish, and hold a valid manual (stick-shift) driver’s licence. Experience with general maintenance, construction, or similar hands-on work is essential, and welding skills are a strong advantage.

Weekend morning duties are shared on a rota basis and are compensated separately.

No prior experience in wildlife rehabilitation is required — full training will be provided where needed.
