What’s inside our September newsletter?

Although August showed signs of slowing down after the intensity of baby season, there’s still plenty happening behind the scenes. We admitted 19 new patients and released 16 birds back to the wild.

This month’s stories include an owl who learned to manage perfectly well with one eye, a Roadside Hawk who surprised us by proving she could live independently, and eight Olive-throated Parakeets whose long rehabilitation finally brought them home.

Meanwhile, a new enclosure donated in honour of a much-loved dog named Ginger is now giving our Yellow-lored Parrots space to prepare for their own return to the wild.

We have news of two toucans who grew up together, a Red-lored Amazon who was given a second chance after a lucky intervention, and lots more stories.

With 217 birds still in care, including 76 permanent sanctuary residents, there is always more to do. Thank you to everyone who supports the work through donations, wishlist gifts, sharing our posts and following the birds’ journeys.
